How to Wear A Midi Skirt
I have always hesitated to wear a midi skirt because of my height. I’m 5’2 by the way. I love this one from Monki because it’s the right fit for my petite frame. If you struggle to find the right one, here is my take on how you can rock a midi skirt.
Choose the right length
If the hemline cuts at the widest part of your calves, it will make your legs appear short and stumpy. Instead, opt for a skirt length that hits just below mid-calf where the leg is a little slimmer.
Draw attention to the waist.
Avoid tops that hide the waistline or end at the hip. If you pair it with a top that’s too long, you can choose to tuck it in like what I did here. Crop tops can be a great option as well.
Fashion 101 tells us don’t wear horizontal stripes because anything that moves eye to eye has the widening effect. Therefore it’s best to stick with vertical lines. However, the emphasis here is to go skinny, okay not literally. Skirts with skinny stripes are great because they appear to lengthen the body, an excellent plus for petite like me.
Shoes, shoes, shoes
Avoid boots or shoes with ankle straps as these cut across the leg and disrupts the overall flow of the dress. Your best bet is to go for platform pumps or peep toe heels.
